This story began on the coast of Hiiumaa, with a group of friends brought together by a shared passion — the sea, the wind, surfing, and the desire to share that feeling with people from all over the world.

From the merging of those dreams, Ranna Surf Village was born in 2022 — a surf paradise with glamping, set right in the heart of Estonia’s wild nature.

DREAM & FATE

For years, a passionate young surfer named Riho ran the Paope Surf Club on Hiiumaa — a simple wooden shack on a sandy beach, where a whole surf community grew around it.

Whenever the winds turned southwest or south, the whole Paope crew would head across the peninsula to Suurerand, chasing the wind. The road always passed one particular seaside spot — a place that, for some reason, kept calling out to Riho.

That unexplainable pull stayed with him, quietly growing into a dream of something more.

Ten years later, through a series of coincidences, that very same piece of land found its way to him.

It felt like it was always meant to be. Like fate.

When Riho began shaping the new place, he invited his old friend Risto to visit. In Risto’s eyes, that familiar spark lit up — the kind that only appears when something just clicks: this is where I want to stay, this is where I want to create.

That moment marked the beginning of Ranna Surf Village, our glamping stays, and our surf camps.

Not long after, more friends joined in — and their role became much more than just lending a helping hand. They’ve become part of the very soul that brings this place to life. Together, we’ve shaped the seaside land, set up the glamping tents, built the surf café, hosted events, and come up with ideas that make people’s eyes light up.

This is our summer.
Our way of life.
Our laughter.
Our shared creation as friends.

OUR MISSION

Ranna Surf Village is more than just a place to stay — it’s a reminder. A reminder that life’s best moments can be beautifully simple: running barefoot on the grass, gazing at the stars, sitting by the fire, laughing and talking with good company.

We believe real life happens outdoors. And when we give ourselves the chance to slow down from everyday routines, we start to notice that the happiness we’ve been chasing has always been right there around us.

Our community creates the space for that to happen.

Ranna Surf Village is more than just a getaway.
It’s a way of life —
a life where you can dream, laugh, surf, and stay connected
to nature, to people, and most importantly, to yourself.

PARTNERSHIPS THAT DRIVE US FORWARD

Ranna Surf Village has grown into what it is today largely thanks to the meaningful collaborations we’ve built with inspiring people and businesses across Estonia.
We’re truly grateful for every contribution, every idea, and every bit of inspiration.

We are deeply thankful to Osvald Catering, who have supported us over the years with both their knowledge and hands-on help. They’ve been a true example and inspiration of how to bring the highest quality to people.

Our collaboration with Big Green Egg Estonia has opened up a whole new world of culinary possibilities. Bringing their grills into our Surf & Chill café has added character and a special spark to our menu — something our guests truly appreciate.

On the Kõpu Peninsula in Hiiumaa, you’ll find a special place called Pihla Inspiratsioonitalu. The people there have played an important role in the growth of Ranna Surf Village. Many of our ideas and successes have been inspired and supported by their kindness and guidance — and for that, we’re truly grateful.

Surfmaster is one of our key partners. Their surf camps for kids, youth, and adults, held here at Ranna Surf Village, bring a true surf paradise spirit to this place. We feel lucky to have Surfmaster as part of our journey.

The crew at No Work Surf Club are energetic creators with whom we organize our biggest surf event of the summer — Lohelaager. It has brought people to us from all over Estonia and introduced our little surf village to surfers beyond our borders. We lift each other up.

Teele Rehe is a talented photographer whose eye has captured much of the world you see here on our website. If you’re interested, you can also book a private photoshoot with her here in our Hiiumaa surf village.

Eazy Campervan has added a new layer to our accommodation during larger events, offering cozy homes built into minibuses. Their concept blends perfectly with the Ranna Surf Village lifestyle — combining a love for travel with a touch of comfort and adventure.

AllClean is a property maintenance company with long-term experience. Through our collaboration, Ranna Surf Village has grown stronger, and we’ve applied their knowledge in maintaining our accommodation. We’re grateful to have had their guidance in keeping things running smoothly, even here in the wild nature of the island.
